Once a blog has been added to your site, you can start publishing content right away. This article covers everyday blog tasks: creating a new post, editing an existing one, filling in post details, and publishing.

Blog posts are written in Post Mode, which works just like editing a regular page. You can add text, images, videos, and other widgets to the body of your post.

Creating a New Post

  1. In the side panel, click Blog.

  2. Click New Post.

  3. Choose how you want to start:

    • Start from Scratch — write the post yourself.

    • Draft with AI — answer a few prompts and Duda will generate a starting draft for you.

  4. Fill in the main post details:

    • Post title

    • Post author (only users with blog access to the site can be selected)

    • Post Layout — choose which of your site's blog layouts this post should use

    • Main image — click +Image to select or upload one

  5. Click Start to open the post in the editor.

From here, write and format your content, and add any images, videos, or other elements you'd like — just like building out a page.

Editing an Existing Post

  1. In the side panel, click Blog.

  2. Click Manage Posts.

  3. Find the post you want to update and click the Edit icon.

  1. Make your changes.

  2. Republish the post so your changes go live — edits made in Post Mode aren't visible on the site until the post is republished.

Post Details and Settings

Click the Post Settings (gear) icon on a post to manage:

  • Post URL (Permalink) — auto-generated from the title; edit if needed. (The post must be published before you can copy this URL.)

  • Publish date — changing this changes the post's order in the blog.

  • Post title, author, and main image — update any of these at any time.

  • Post tags — add tags so you and site visitors can filter and find related posts.

  • Post layout — switch to a different available layout.

SEO Settings

Good SEO settings help your posts get found. In Post Settings, you can also set:

  • Post meta-title — aim for roughly 45–67 characters. If left blank, this defaults to the post title.

  • Post thumbnail + alt text — the image and description shown when the post is shared or listed. You can write your own alt text or click the sparkle icon to generate it with AI (requires a Team plan or higher with AI Assistant permissions).

  • Post description — a short summary shown in listings and shares. If left blank, Duda pulls text from the start of the post.

  • No-index toggle — turn this on if you don't want a specific post to appear in search engine results.

Publishing, Scheduling, and Unpublishing

From Post Settings, you can:

  • Click Publish to make a post live.

  • Click Schedule post to pick a future date and time for it to go live automatically.

  • Click Unpublish to take a live post down, or Republish to push your latest edits live.

Deleting Posts

  1. In the side panel, click Blog, then Manage Posts.

  2. Check the box next to the post(s) you want to remove.

  3. Click Delete (or Unpublish, if you just want to take it offline without deleting it).

Duplicating a Post

If you have a post with a layout or structure you'd like to reuse, you can duplicate it instead of rebuilding it from scratch:

  1. In the side panel, click Blog, then Posts.

  2. Click the three-dot icon next to the post you want to copy and select Duplicate.

The copy will appear as "Copy of [original post name]" and can be renamed and edited like any other post.

Quick Tips

  • Add a post description and meta-title to every post — this is one of the easiest ways to improve how your blog performs in search results.

  • Use tags consistently so visitors can filter posts by topic.

  • Don't forget to republish after editing — changes won't appear on your live site until you do.
