QuickBooks Web Connector (QWC) File Explanation
Simply put, the QuickBooks Web Connector (QWC) file is the key to the entire integration between Housecall Pro and QuickBooks Desktop.
It plays a critical role in allowing the software to send information back and forth, and our connection to QuickBooks Desktop simply can not function without it.
You might require a new QWC file in the following situations:
The computer or server hosting QuickBooks Desktop crashed, and:
You’ve replaced it with a new machine, or
You managed to salvage the old machine but lost data on the hard drive, including the original QWC file.
Important Note:
Do NOT attempt to download and install a new QWC file unless you meet one of the above criteria. Please only proceed if you are
confident that you fit the criteria outlined.
Downloading multiple QWC files and updating your QuickBooks Desktop file from multiple computers may cause severe damage to your QuickBooks Desktop file.
Housecall Pro will not be able to assist you if your QuickBooks Desktop file is damaged or corrupted due to the ongoing use of multiple QWC files.

How to Download a New QWC File
To download a new QWC file for your QuickBooks Desktop integration:
Navigate to 'My Apps' by clicking the 3x3 square icon in the top right corner of your Housecall Pro account. Then, click on the QuickBooks Desktop app icon.
Click the back arrow until you are on the "Let's get started" screen. You may need to click the back arrow multiple times.
When you reach the "Let's get started" screen, click 'Download Authentication' to download your QWC authentication file.
Once the file has been downloaded:
You can install your new QuickBooks Web Connector and resume syncing Housecall Pro information into QuickBooks Desktop.
You will go through the same process of re-installing your web connector as you did when you first set up your integration.
