The Marketing Health Score analyzes your current marketing setup and tells you how you're doing. It looks at signals like your Google Business Profile, your search ranking, and other key marketing factors to generate a score and a set of personalized recommendations specific to your business.
Think of it as a marketing checkup — it tells you what's working, what's not, and where to focus next.
To find it: Marketing > Dashboard > Get my marketing score
What the Health Score measures
The marketing health score looks at several areas of your marketing presence, including:
Google Business Profile (GBP): Is your profile complete? Are your photos, description, categories, and contact info up to date?
Search ranking: How visible is your business when potential customers search for your services in your area?
Review presence: Are you actively collecting reviews, and how does your rating compare?
Each area gets evaluated and factors into your overall score. The audit also calls out specific gaps and gives you a prioritized list of things to fix.
How to generate your Marketing Health Score
When you open the health score page for the first time, you'll see an onboarding flow that walks you through connecting your data and triggering your first audit.
Go to Marketing > Dashboard and click on Get my marketing score.
Follow the onboarding flow to confirm your business information and connect your Google Business Profile (if not already connected).
Housecall Pro will analyze your marketing setup and generate your score.
Review your results — you'll see an overall score, a breakdown by area, and a list of recommendations.
📌 Note: If your Google Business Profile isn't connected to Housecall Pro yet, you'll be prompted to connect it before the audit can run.
FAQs
What data does the health score use?
The audit uses your Google Business Profile data, your search ranking signals, and your review data connected to Housecall Pro. It does not use your private job or customer data from within HCP.
How often does my health score refresh?
Your health score can only be generated every 30 days. It reflects the state of your marketing at that point in time. To get a new score after making improvements, wait 30 days to receive a score.
What if I don't have a Google Business Profile?
A Google Business Profile is required to access the health score. We strongly recommend setting up a GBP if you don't have one — it's one of the highest-impact marketing moves for a local service business. You can create a Google Business Profile here.
What if the recommendations don't apply to my business?
The recommendations are based on the data available. If something feels off for your specific situation, you can skip it or reach out to support to share feedback. Your input helps improve the audit over time.
Will Housecall Pro automatically make changes based on the health score?
No — not in this version. The Health Score shows you what to improve and gives you recommendations, but any changes to your Google Business Profile or other channels are up to you. A future version will give you the option to have Housecall Pro execute specific improvements on your behalf.
Does the Health Score affect my reviews or Google ranking directly?
No. The Health Score is read-only in this version. It analyzes your current standing but does not make any changes to your profiles or listings.
My score seems low — what should I do first?
Start with the top recommendation in your list. They're prioritized by impact. Improving your Google Business Profile completeness is often the highest-leverage first step for most businesses.
