Automate Job Creation from Approved Estimates

Reduce manual work and ensure you never miss an approved estimate by automatically creating a new job when an estimate is approved.

This article will walk you through how this new automation works and how to set it up for your business.

This feature is included with all Housecall Pro plans at no additional cost.


How it works

Automation is supported for two workflows:

  1. When a customer approves an estimate: If the automation is enabled, a new job is automatically created as soon as a customer approves an estimate through the Customer Portal.

  2. When you approve an estimate from the web or mobile app: The approval process has a new, easy-to-use option to "Copy to new job." When you approve an estimate, this checkbox will be pre-selected for you, and the job will be created automatically.


How to set it up

By default, this setting is turned off. To enable it:

  • Click the gear icon in the top-right corner of your Housecall Pro account to access your Settings.

  • Select Estimates > Automations from the left menu.

  • Toggle on the switch next to Automatically copy an approved estimate to a new job - and that's it!


Manual approvals

You can now easily copy estimates to jobs while manually approving estimates yourself in the web and mobile apps.

To do that, after clicking Approve on the estimate, simply make sure that the Copy to job checkbox is selected.

📌 Note: If you turned on the automation in settings, the checkbox will always be ticked by default.
