Customer Notifications in Settings

The Notifications page in Settings lets you configure the automated communications sent to your customers whenever key actions take place β€” like scheduling a job, sending an invoice, or cancelling an estimate. You can control which messages are enabled, what channel they're sent on (email or text), and customize the message templates to match your brand.

To access this page, go to Settings > Notifications > select the Customer tab.


Jobs

The Jobs section controls notifications related to your service jobs.

  • Scheduled β€” Sent when a job is scheduled manually or through online booking.

  • On my way β€” Sent when a technician is on their way to a job.

  • Finished β€” Sent when a job is marked as finished.

  • Reminder β€” Reminds the customer of an upcoming job appointment.

  • Cancelled β€” Sent when a job is cancelled.


Estimates

The Estimates section controls notifications related to your customer estimates.

  • Scheduled β€” Sent when an estimate is scheduled manually or through online booking.

  • On my way β€” Sent when a technician is on their way to an estimate.

  • Finished β€” Sent when an estimate is marked as finished.

  • Sent β€” Notifies the customer that an estimate has been sent.

  • Cancelled β€” Sent when an estimate is cancelled.


Invoices

The Invoices section controls notifications related to your customer invoices.

  • Sent β€” Notifies the customer that an invoice has been sent.

  • Reminder β€” Reminds the customer that an invoice is due.

  • Refund β€” Notifies the customer that a refund has been processed.

  • Receipt β€” Sent when a customer makes a payment.


Customizing Notification Messages

Each notification has a pencil icon ✏️ that lets you edit the message template. Click it to open the message editor, where you can customize the content of your email or text to match your business's tone and branding:

  • Compose your message using the variables.

  • Preview your message to confirm it is what you want to send to your customers.

  • Make sure to save your edits in order to return to the notifications page.

  • An email or text that is a required setting will indicate that it cannot be disabled.

  • To configure reminder communications, you can edit the content of your text and email, but also set the cadence of each communication.
