Re-Verifying Your Business Name and Tax ID
Housecall Pro will initially ask for both your business name and Tax ID/EIN when your business first connects its bank account to Housecall Pro for payouts.
After this information is entered, Housecall Pro's payments partner performs a validation with the IRS to ensure this data is correct. This process may take up to a few days, or as little as a few hours.
If the business name and Tax ID/EIN entered do not match IRS records:
Housecall Pro will request that you check your tax documents and re-verify the information.
You will see a red banner in your Housecall Pro account if your business information needs to be re-verified and submitted.
Click 'Review Info' in the red banner, and you will be redirected to the update the information.
Once you re-enter your information correctly, you will get a message verifying that Housecall Pro received your information. If information is still incorrect, you will receive another notification to update.
Please Note: To ensure that your information is secure, Housecall Pro hides your tax information once entered.
Reasons for Re-Entering Your Business Name and Tax ID
Tax ID or EIN is missing a number or a number was entered incorrectly.
The business name isn’t exactly the same as what is on file with the IRS.
The business name entered does not include the second line of your entity name, as recorded on your Letter 147C, provided by the IRS.
Example:
In this case, the business name needed is both lines of the entity name ("ACME LLC" and "THERESA LOPEZ-FITZGERALD SOLE MBR").
The business name entered is the name of your DBA ("doing business as") and not the correct entity name given to the IRS.
Example:
Legal business (entity) name to IRS: Charlie’s Air Conditioning Inc.
DBA ("doing business as"): Charlie’s Air Conditioning
In this case, the business name entered in Housecall Pro should be "Charlie’s Air Conditioning Inc."
