Overview

It's important to verify your business information so that we may properly register your business for SMS & MMS messaging.

Why is this happening?

Recently, the carriers have implemented new requirements towards SMS & MMS messaging in order to prevent spam on their networks. As a result, Twilio has initiated a new A2P10DLC registration process that requires every business be properly registered with the carriers to ensure deliverability.

How do I start the process of registering for A2P 10DLC?

Here is a step-by-step walkthrough of the product to show you exactly how to kick off the registration process.

It is asking me to “Verify Business Info” but the information that I have provided is correct.

Please confirm that the business information you have entered is the same as what you have on file with the IRS or the equivalent tax authority in other countries. We recommend verifying with your CP 575 letter.

What are some reasons for receiving this notice?

  • Your business information contains a number in the EIN or Tax ID field that is not a valid EIN or home country company ID number

    • Please list your business name and address EXACTLY as it is displayed in your EIN

  • Your business information contains an invalid website address

  • Your business information contains an invalid state

  • Your business information contains an invalid US postal code

  • You provided a DUNS number instead of an EIN for a US-based company

  • You used a SSN to register your brand. If you used your SSN to file your taxes, you are a sole proprietor and should await further guidance as this becomes available to us

I have resubmitted my business information but am still receiving the prompt to “Verify Business Info.” What do I do?

If you are still receiving the “Verify Business Info,” prompt, please ensure the business information you provided is exactly the same as your EIN document (SS4) provided by the IRS.

This data allows us to register your custom text number with your business through Twilio.

A2P 10DLC

A2P 10DLC refers to a system in the United States that allows businesses to send Application-to-Person (A2P) type messaging via standard 10-digit long code (10DLC) phone numbers. Carriers in the US consider all Twilio traffic to be A2P. Carriers’ A2P 10DLC offerings provide better delivery quality and lower filtering risk than long code SMS of the past, using the same phone numbers.
