How It Works
Marketing AI generates a description for your service based on its industry and service name. You can further customize these descriptions to match your business style or add more specific details.
Here’s how you can start using it:
Access Your Price book
Log in to your Housecall Pro account.
Navigate to the Price book section from the main dashboard.
Select the industry you want to write a service description for.
Open an existing service or create a new one that you'd like to add a description to.
Step 1: Generate Service Descriptions
Service name field is filled
If you have the service name field pre-filled, you can generate a description faster
Above the service description, click on “Write it for me”
Marketing AI will automatically generate a description based on the service name and industry.
The AI will factor in the most common industry terms and customer-friendly explanations to produce a description that’s both accurate and easy to understand.
Service name field is empty
Above the service description, click on “Write it for me”
Marketing AI will prompt you to type in the name of your service.
Once you have entered in a prompt, click "Write it".

Step 2: Review and Edit
Once the AI generates the description, you can review it to ensure it fits your business needs.
You can edit the prompt generate a new description.
If you’re not satisfied with the first result, click the arrow button to Regenerate to produce a new version.
Step 3: Save Your Service
After finalizing the description, click "Use this".
The updated or newly added service will be copied into the service name description.
Click "save" to ensure that all updated content is saved as your new service.
Best Practices for AI-Generated Service Descriptions
Customize When Needed: While the AI-generated descriptions are highly effective, we recommend personalizing them where appropriate. This ensures the language aligns with your business’s unique tone and services.
Add Specific Details: For specialized services, consider adding any unique details or extras that your company offers. For example, if a service includes a free inspection or additional warranty, make sure to include that in the description.
Test with Different Services: AI descriptions are optimized for a wide range of industries and services. Experiment with multiple types of services to see how the tool performs and adjust as needed.

Marketing AI creates clear, customer-friendly descriptions that explain the value and scope of your service. You can make them as detailed as you want by adding more information.
3. What industries are supported?
Marketing AI supports all industries that are included with Housecall Pro. Select "Add Industry" in your Services Price book to view the options we provide.
4. Can I use this for materials or just services?
Currently, AI service descriptions are only available for services, not materials. However, you can manually add material details within the service description if needed.
