Match Google and Facebook Reviews to Jobs

Written by Nate H

Connect the Google and Facebook reviews you receive back to the jobs that earned them, so you can see which jobs and techs earn the best reviews.

To get started, go to Marketing > Reviews.

Why match reviews to jobs

When a review arrives from Google or Facebook, it does not say which job it came from. Matching connects the review to its job, customer, and technician. Once matched, you can:

  • Reply knowing exactly what work the customer is talking about

  • See which technicians and services earn the best reviews

  • Stop sending review requests to customers who already left you one

Review match states

Every Google and Facebook review shows one of these states.

  • Suggested match by HCP: Housecall Pro found a likely job. Review it and confirm.

  • A job number: already matched. Click the number to open the job.

  • Match review to job: no job match suggestion found. Search and manually match the job.

Confirm a suggested match

  • Go to Marketing > Reviews

  • Find a review showing a Suggested match by HCP card

  • Check the details on the card: job number, job name, completion date, customer, and technician

  • Click the job number first if you want to see the full job before deciding

  • Click Confirm

Once confirmed, the review shows the matched job number as a link that opens that job.

🛠️ Pro Tip: Suggestions are prepared when you open your reviews list. Checking Reviews regularly means suggestions are ready and waiting for you.

Match a review to a job yourself

Use this when there is no suggestion, or when the suggestion is wrong.

  • Go to Marketing > Reviews

  • Find the review and click Match review to job

  • The Match jobs and reviews window opens with the review shown at the top

  • Under Find a job to match, type in the Search box

  • Search by job number, customer name, technician name, or date

  • Select the correct job from the results

  • Click Save

ℹ️ If your search returns nothing, you will see No jobs found. Try a shorter search term, or search by the customer's name instead of the job number.

Change an existing match

  • Go to Marketing > Reviews

  • Find the matched review and click the Change job match icon, or click Change on a suggestion card

  • The Match jobs and reviews window opens, showing the Current match

  • Search for and select the correct job

  • Click Save

Mark a review as having no matching job

Some reviews come from people who were never customers, such as a neighbor or someone who found you online.

  • Go to Marketing > Reviews

  • Open the review and click Match

  • In the Match jobs and reviews window, click Save as no match

The review then shows a No job match label.

Search, filter, and sort your reviews

  • Go to Marketing > Reviews

  • Click the filter icon above the reviews list

  • Filter by Source, Reply status, or Job match status

  • Applied filters appear as chips you can remove one at a time

  • Use the sort control to sort by date or by rating

You can filter by:

  • Source shows All, Housecall Pro, Google, and Facebook. Default is All.

  • Reply status shows All, No reply, and Replied. Default is All.

  • Job match status shows All, Unmatched, and Matched. Default is All.

Note: Google and Facebook only appear under Source if you have connected those accounts. If neither is connected, the Source filter is hidden. See Connect Google Business Profile and Facebook to Reviews.

Search covers review content, replies, technician names, reviewer names, dates, and job numbers. Your filter and sort choices are remembered when you come back to the page.

Good to know

  • Matching applies to Google and Facebook reviews only. Reviews left on your Housecall Pro page are already connected to a job, so they need no matching.

  • Marking a review as "No job match" does not remove it from the Unmatched filter. This is expected behavior, not a bug.

  • This is available on Housecall Pro web. You can use a phone or tablet browser, but these screens are not in the Housecall Pro mobile app.

Frequently asked questions

Why does a review already show a matched job when I never confirmed it?

Having the “Optimize review routing for me” toggle on, Google reviews can be connected automatically when the reviewer logs into their Google account when leaving a review. If a match looks wrong, click the Change job match icon and choose the correct job.

Why does a review I marked "No job match" still show under Unmatched?

The Unmatched filter includes every review without a confirmed job, which covers reviews you marked as having no match. This is expected.

Why don't I see a suggested job for some reviews?

A suggestion appears only when Housecall Pro finds a job that looks like a likely match. If the reviewer's name does not line up with a customer, or there is no nearby completed job, you will see Match review to job instead so you can search yourself.

Can I match a lot of reviews at once?

Not in this release. Reviews are matched one at a time.

Does matching a review change what my customer sees?

No. Matching is for your records only. Your customer sees nothing, and the review on Google or Facebook is unchanged.

How does matching help my review requests?

If you use the setting to skip customers who already left a review, that only works for reviews matched to a job. Matching your reviews makes that setting more accurate.
