Delete Multiple Jobs at Once

Delete Multiple Jobs at Once

Clean up your Jobs list in one action instead of deleting jobs one at a time. Bulk delete is reversible, so you can act with confidence — nothing is gone for good.

This article covers how to bulk delete jobs, what happens when deleted jobs carry revenue, and how to restore them.

Status: This feature is in early alpha testing and may not be available on your account yet.

What you can do with Bulk Delete

  • Select multiple jobs on your web Jobs list and delete them all at once.

  • See a warning if any of the selected jobs carry revenue (invoices, payments, or are QuickBooks-synced) before you confirm.

  • Restore any deleted job at any time — nothing is permanently removed.

  • Get notified when a large batch finishes deleting in the background.

Bulk Delete on the Web

To delete multiple jobs:

  • Go to the left sidebar and click Jobs.

  • Select the checkboxes next to the jobs you want to delete (or use Select all {N} matching after applying a filter to select everything that matches, not just what's on the current page).

  • Click Delete in the bulk action bar that appears.

  • If none of the selected jobs carry revenue, you'll see: "Delete {N} jobs? These will be removed from your lists, Pipeline, and reports. You can restore them anytime from the Deleted filter." — click Delete {N} to confirm.

  • If some selected jobs have invoices, payments, or are linked to a won estimate, you'll instead see a warning naming how many are affected, with the choice to Delete all {N}, Skip the tied ones and delete the rest, or Cancel.

📌 Note: Deleting 100 or fewer jobs happens immediately, with a success message and an Undo option. Deleting more than 100 jobs runs in the background — you'll get a notification (in-app and email) when it's done, showing how many were deleted, skipped, or couldn't be deleted.

Restore deleted jobs

  • Go to the left sidebar and click Jobs.

  • Open the Deleted filter to see jobs you or your team have deleted.

  • Select the jobs you want to bring back.

  • Click Restore.

  • Restored jobs return to their previous active state, reappear in your lists, Pipeline, schedule, and reports, and any revenue they carried returns to your reports.

Good To Know

  • This is a reversible soft-delete, not a permanent removal. Deleted jobs are never automatically purged — they stay recoverable in the Deleted filter indefinitely.

  • Revenue is affected. If a deleted job has an invoice, a payment, or is linked to a won estimate, deleting it removes that revenue from your reports until you restore it.

  • QuickBooks is untouched. If a deleted job is QuickBooks-synced, deleting it in Housecall Pro does not change or remove anything on the QuickBooks side.

  • No cascading deletes. Deleting a job doesn't delete anything linked to it, like an invoice — linked records are what trigger the revenue warning in the first place.

  • Recurring jobs: deleting one occurrence of a recurring job only removes that instance — the rest of the series is unaffected.

  • Customer notifications are suppressed. Deleting a job won't trigger any customer-facing texts, emails, or automations for that job.

  • Estimates aren't included in this release. This currently covers the Jobs list only.

Frequently Asked Questions

If I delete a job by mistake, can I get it back?

  • Yes — go to the Deleted filter on your Jobs list, select the job, and click Restore. There's no time limit.

What happens to a job's revenue when I delete it?

  • If the job has an invoice, a payment, or is linked to a won estimate, its revenue is removed from your reports until you restore the job. You'll be warned about this before you confirm the delete.

Will deleting a job affect my QuickBooks records?

  • No — Housecall Pro doesn't push the deletion to QuickBooks. Your QuickBooks data is untouched.

Can I bulk delete estimates too?

  • Not in this release — this currently applies to the Jobs list only.

Will my customer be notified if I delete their job?

  • No — deleting a job suppresses any customer notifications or automations tied to it.

What if I don't see the Delete option?

  • You need the job delete/cancel permission to see and use bulk delete. If you don't see it, check with your account admin.
