How to Manage Tipping Options (HCP Web Portal)
To accept credit card tips when taking payments, you must first enable the option in your Housecall Pro account. To set your default tipping options for all future invoices, follow these steps.
📌 Note: Tipping only applies to credit card payments taken using the Housecall Pro credit card processor.
For new users:
Click the gear icon in the top right corner of your HCP account to go to Settings.
Select Invoices from the Settings menu on the left.
Click the Configuration tab on the Invoices settings page.
If you're on the previous version of settings:
Click the gear icon in the top right corner of your HCP account to go to Settings
From the left-hand menu, select Invoices and then Payment options from the dropdown menu.
In your Invoices Payment options settings:
Click on the toggles under the Tipping section to enable or disable the following tipping options:
Accept tips on online payments
When this setting is enabled, customers have the option to add a tip to their payment. Tip is only available when taking a credit card payment.
Use a separate tipping screen on checkout
If this option is enabled, your customers will see a more obvious tipping prompt on a separate screen before signing off on the payment.
Click the toggle next to the options you want to enable or disable, and you're all set! Your tipping options will be available on all future invoices sent to customers.
