Yes, if you’d like to accept payments using our payments processor, you will need to enter your social security number. If you’re not interested in accepting credit card payments you will not need to enter your social security number.

Providing your Social Security Number and home address is a requirement when applying for most merchant services accounts. This mandate is part of the 2001 U.S. Patriot Act, and used to verify identities to protect against illicit activities.

Stripe (our payment processor) has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry.
