How do I add segments to a job?

Learn how to add segments to jobs. Segments are perfect for multi-day jobs or jobs that require more than one visit.

To create a new segment on the web browser, use the Customers tab or Search Bar on the HCP navigation menu to locate and open the job details page. Click the wrench icon in the top right of the screen.

A drop-down menu will appear. Select 'add segment.'

A window will appear titled create new segment. Click 'Create' in the bottom right. This will create a blank form to be filled out with the new invoice information, schedule, and notes.  Segment #1 will have all the information you've already entered into those fields. Segment #2 will be blank, ready for you to enter the information for the next portion of the job.  

You can toggle between each segment by selecting each one at the top left corner of the screen. Repeat this process to create as many segments as needed. The job will have one invoice number, with sub-numbers (ex. Invoice #6-2) assigned to each segment.

You can bill each segment separately or all together, by clicking the Invoicing icon and selecting the edit pencil in the Segments section. You can check the box for the segments you want included on the invoice. (It will be highlighted in blue once added)

Rename Segments

Each portion of a multi-part job or multi-option estimate can be named to reflect whatever label or title you prefer.

  • To rename segments on the web browser, use the Customers tab or Search Bar on the HCP navigation menu to locate and open the job details page.

  • To name the segment, click on the 3 dots next to the Segment you want to change

  • A drop-down menu will appear. Click Rename segment.

  • Enter the name you want to change it to and click 'RENAME'.

  • When it is correct, hit the 'rename' button in the bottom right to save the changes.

Add a Segment

  • From the job details page, click the 'More' icon in the upper right corner

  • Select from the following options:

    • 'Add segment' - add a brand new, blank segment

    • 'Copy segment' - copy all job information to the new segment

  • If you choose:

    • 'Add segment' - you can type in a custom name for the segment

    • 'Copy segment' - select if you'd like job attachments copied over as well (the pop-up will appear with or without attachments on the job)

NOTE: Whether a segment is copied or added, it will still need to be scheduled.

  • Click the segment name to view the segment details or swipe between pages

Rename Segments

Once a segment has been added to a job, you will have the option to rename any and all segments of the job.

  • Click 'More'

  • Select 'Rename segment'.

  • Type in the new name of the segment and click 'Confirm'

Delete Segments

Delete one or more segments from a job.
To completely delete a job, you must delete all segments.

  • Open the segment you'd like to delete, click 'More'

  • Click 'Delete' & confirm that you'd like to delete the segment.

  • Click 'Confirm' to delete

Invoicing Segments

You can add multiple segments to an invoice as long as they have line items and a due amount.

  • Click the 'Invoice' icon

  • Click the segment icon to add segments to an invoice

  • Toggle a segment to add it to the invoice (blue = added)

  • Click 'Done'

  • Click 'Send' once you're ready to send!

Segments on Android

Not only can you copy or add brand new segments to a job on the Android mobile app, but you can schedule, edit, rename, and even delete!

Add Segments

  • Locate the job of your choosing.

  • Open the job details page.

  • Click the 'More' icon in the upper right corner.

  • Select from the following options:

    • 'Add segment' - add a brand new, blank segment

    • 'Copy segment' - copy all job information to the new segment

  • If you choose:

    • 'Add segment' - you can type in a custom name for the segment

    • 'Copy segment' - select if you'd like job attachments copied over as well (the pop-up will appear with or without attachments on the job)

NOTE: Whether a segment is copied or added, it must still be scheduled.

  • Click 'More'.

  • Select 'Rename segment'.

  • Open the segment you'd like to delete, and click 'More'.

  • Click 'Delete' & confirm that you'd like to delete the segment.

Invoicing Segments

You can add multiple segments to an invoice as long as they have line items and a due amount.

  • Click the 'Invoice' icon.

  • Click the segment icon to add segments to an invoice.

  • Check the box next to each segment you'd like to add to the invoice.

  • Click in the greyed-out area once you've finished selecting.


  • Click 'Send' when you're ready to send the invoice!
