Connect Google My Business and Facebook to Reviews

Connect your Facebook page to start getting reviews there as well as Google and Housecall Pro!

If you have the Reviews app turned on, you can hook up your Google My Business account to get reviews on Google from your Gmail customers! 

NOTE: Only customers with @gmail.com email addresses will be directed to Google to leave their review. However, all other customers will still be able to leave their review on Housecall.

How to connect your Google My Business account to Housecall Pro Reviews:

  • Click 'My Apps' located in your navigation bar and select 'Reviews

  • Click the Google logo to start connecting, or open the settings and connect your Google My Business account from there

Choose Connect to Google

  • Choose the Google account that manages your Google My Business account

  • Allow access to your Google account so that Housecall Pro is able to direct customers to your Google My Business page and show you your reviews

If you only have one location listed, you're all set!

If you have more than one location, continue with the steps below:

  • Choose the Google account that is linked to your Google My Business 

Choose the Google My Business location that you would like to get reviews for 

If you need to change your Google My Business account at any time, click the 'Settings' icon on your Reviews page. 

To change your account: toggle Google OFF, then toggle back ON. You will then be taken through the process to connect your account again.

Reviews on Facebook

If Reviews are not already enabled for your account, follow these instructions to activate them.

Activate Facebook Reviews:

Connecting to your company's Facebook page can be a bit tricky. According to Facebook, everyone has to connect to a personal Facebook profile before connecting to a Facebook company page managed by that personal profile. ​

Note: No one ever sees the personal Facebook profile, just the company page. Make sure you're logged into a Facebook account with Administrator access, Facebook access, or Task access to the page before starting.

Follow the steps below to activate Facebook Reviews:

  • Click 'My Apps' in the navigation bar

  • Click on the 'Reviews' icon

  • Click the Facebook logo or choose the settings gear in the upper right-hand corner and toggle on the switch next to Facebook to connect your account

  • Choose 'Connect to Facebook' in the pop-up. This will take you over to Facebook to login

  • Continue with your current account or log in - Ensure you use an account with Admin access, Task access or Facebook access to your Facebook Business Page.

  • Choose your Facebook Business Page - you may only connect one Facebook Business Page to Housecall Pro

  • Allow Housecall Pro to pull all three of these settings (if you don't allow then your reviews app will not work properly)

  • Confirm that you have linked your account

  • You'll then be returned to your Housecall Pro account!

Things to know:

  • Customers must be logged into their Facebook account in order to leave a Facebook review.

  • You must have a Facebook business page in order to receive Facebook reviews.


If you had connected Facebook to your reviews account prior to February 12, 2020 you will need to reauthorize your Facebook account in order to utilize any new reviews features. If you don't reauthorize review requests for your Facebook page will still be sent as normal.

FAQ

Why isn't my business showing up as an option after I connect my Google account?

  • The first thing to check is that you have selected the Google account that manages your Google My Business page to connect within the Housecall Reviews App

  • If you are using the correct Google account and your business still isn't showing up, you likely need to verify your business with Google first. You can follow these steps in order to get Google verified. 

Which of my customers are sent to Google to leave their review?

  • Any of your customers that have an @gmail.com email address will be send directly to Google to leave their review

I have customers that don't have Gmail accounts, can they leave reviews? 

  • Only customers with @gmail.com email addresses will be directed to Google to leave their review. However, all other customers will still be able to leave their review on Housecall
