Enable Employee GPS Tracking

If you have Employee GPS tracking included in your plan, you can locate your employees on the HCP Map from the web portal.

To enable the Employee GPS Tracking feature:

  • Ensure that your business hours are set up in the system by navigating to your Account Settings (click on the Gear icon in the top right corner of your HCP web portal).

  • Select 'Business Hours' from the menu on the left.

  • Verify that your business hours are set up and correct, or set your business hours by clicking the blue 'Edit' button in the 'Operating hours' section at the top, then click the blue 'Save' button in the Operating hours window.

  • Once you've set up and verified your business hours, you can click on the HCP Map icon in the top navigation bar of your account to view your employees' locations during business hours.

  • You will now also see a map on the left side of the Job Details page, showing you the service location (colored pin) and the current location of the technician(s) assigned to that job.

View Today's Jobs on the HCP Map

You can use the HCP Map to view today’s jobs and get a clear visual of where your technicians are scheduled.

To view today's jobs on the HCP Map:

  • First, click on the HCP Map icon in the top navigation bar of your account.

  • Next, you will be taken to the HCP Map, showing all of today’s scheduled jobs.

  • Each technician will appear with their profile photo and assigned employee color.

  • A pin will appear on the map at the service address for today's jobs.

  • When you hover over a pin, you'll see the job or invoice number along with the related service address.

View All Customers on the HCP Map

In addition to seeing scheduled jobs, you can also display all customer locations on the HCP Map for a better sense of where your customer base is concentrated!

To view Customer locations on the HCP Map:

  • First, click the HCP Map icon in the top navigation bar of your account.

  • Next, you'll be directed to the HCP Map.

  • In the top left-hand corner of the map, click on Customers.

  • Then, select All Customers from the dropdown menu.

  • Semi-translucent orange pins will appear on the map—one for each customer in your database.

  • These pins allow you to quickly visualize where your customers are located throughout your service area.

Note: The customer pins are an optional layer you can choose to display, and Employee job pins will always be shown on the map.

Requirements & Things to Know

  • Business hours MUST be set in the system in order to use the GPS function and for your Employees to show on the map.

  • Employees MUST have their location services turned on for the Housecall Pro app and their device(s).

  • While this map is not updated live, it will auto-update every few minutes to reflect the current employee location. This is to save your phone's battery life and your phone bills (think data)!

  • Employees will show on the map only during the listed business hours. However, if an employee is assigned a job outside of normal business hours, they will still appear on the map 1 hour before the start of the job until it is marked as 'Finished'.
