QuickBooks Desktop: Class Tracking (beta)

Housecall Pro can now import, save and export QuickBooks Desktop classes

Prerequisite for Class Tracking in Housecall Pro

  1. Available for QuickBooks Desktop users

  2. Set class tracking to the ENTIRE TRANSACTION

How do I turn on Class Tracking in QuickBooks Desktop?

Importing Classes from QuickBooks Desktop

Pros who import data from QuickBooks Desktop will also import classes. Classes are imported as Business Units in Housecall Pro.

  1. Imported jobs from QuickBooks Desktop will include any class that is applied to a job or added to the list of classes. Classes will appear as Business Units on the job.

  2. You can also find Business Units in Housecall Pro under settings>job fields> business units.

Applying Business Units to jobs in Housecall Pro

  1. Apply a Business Unit to a job on the Jobs page.

  2. Create a new Business Unit or Apply an existing Business Unit to the Job. Imported classes from QuickBooks Desktop will also appear in the list.

Exporting jobs with Business Units to QuickBooks Desktop as Classes

  1. Jobs exported to QuickBooks Desktop that include a new or existing Business Unit will be exported to QuickBooks Desktop automatically as a class is applied to the job.

  2. New classes will be created in QuickBooks Desktop if one does not already exist.

Classes appear in the invoice when a class is applied.

Classes appear in the class tracking list when a new class is created and applied to an invoice.
