If you create a new customer in your Housecall Pro account and they are not currently in your QuickBooks Desktop account, there are a few different ways to get that information to push over:
Create a test job and hit one of the action buttons (Finished, Invoice Sent or Paid).
Create a real job and hit one of the action buttons (Finished, Invoice Sent or Paid).
Created a real or test job and scroll to the bottom of the job and click the 3 vertical dots then choose to manually push the job into Quickbooks Desktop.
As soon as the web connector runs, the customer information will push over to Quickbooks Desktop.
