The onboarding flow allows you to set up the new online booking in just a couple of clicks.

Note: There is a tutorial available that you can watch here

Go to Settings and click the "Online Booking" button.

Step 1: Existing price book vs. pre-built price book

When you open the new Online Booking settings for the first time an onboarding flow will open.

If you already have one or more services enabled for Online Booking, the flow will ask you to decide if you want to use your existing price book, or if you prefer to use a pre-built price book provided by Housecall Pro.

We recommend using the new pre-built price book because it is optimized for conversion and offers the best experience for your customers.

If you prefer to use your existing price book click here.

Note: โ— If you pick the pre-filled price book, the services that are currently enabled for your online booking will be disabled. This affects your existing old / V1 online booking.

Pre-built price book

The pre-built price book is generated by Housecall Pro based on services by industry, coupled with additional data such as price, duration and troubleshooting questions.

The pre-built price book will generate inside the industry folder, next to your own price book.

Step 2: Service type settings

Once you select the standard price book option, the next screen allows you to customize details of service types.

If you company is not providing a service type, you can easily disable it using the toggle next to the service type's name.

If you'd like to edit details of a specific service type click on the "Edit" button.

In this modal view, you can edit the price, and duration, book as a job/estimate, assign service to an employee

The variables set here will be set for all services in this service type category. For example, if you set the price for $120, all repair services such as boiler repair, or electric furnace repair will be set to $120. Once the standard price book is generated, you can go to the price book, and adjust those variables at the service level.

Assign service to employee: use this feature if only certain employees can perform this service type.

Troubleshooting questions: If the services require additional questions from your customers, add them here. Those questions will be displayed in the booking flow, once this service is selected by your customer.

Step 3: Booking settings

In the next step, you can set up the booking rules, by defining booking hours, arrival window, and earliest availability.

Note: The arrival window you set here will become the default arrival window for your company.

Step 4

In the final step, you can preview how your new online booking will work, once it's embedded on your website.

If you'd like to change something, use the "Back" button. If you are satisfied with the result click on the "Finish onboarding setup" button.

Existing price book onboarding

If you prefer to use your existing price book click on "Use your existing price book" and then on the "Next" button.

In the second step of "Existing price book" onboarding, you will see a list of all your services that are currently enabled for online booking.

Click once to select the cell in the table, and click on it the second time to edit data in the cell.

The names of services and prices are sourced from your existing price book. All services get a 2h duration by default. If you'd like to change it, you can do it in this table, or later in the price book.

You can also decide if a given service should be booked in your Housecall App as a job or as an estimate, and you can assign employees plus add troubleshooting questions.

Once you are done, click "Next" to go the Booking settings step.
