What are PayPal’s payment options?
PayPal is a popular online payment service that lets your customers pay invoices using PayPal or Venmo. With PayPal Pay Later, you can also give your customers the option to pay over time by breaking project costs into smaller payments.
What are the fees for the payment options through PayPal?
PayPal: 2.99% fee per transaction
Venmo: 2.99% fee per transaction
PayPal Pay Later: 4.99% fee per transaction
There are no fees for setting up PayPal’s payment options.
Is there a minimum or maximum job size to offer PayPal Pay Later?
The job size will need to fall within the minimum and maximum range below to show up on your invoices.

Am I eligible to use PayPal and Venmo?
PayPal is available in the United States only. You will need to be set up with HCP payments to enable PayPal and Venmo.
Getting started
How do I set up PayPal’s payment options?
⚙️ Feature Requirement: To enable PayPal and Venmo, you must already be set up with Housecall Pro Payments.
To enable PayPal and Venmo in your Housecall Pro account:
Navigate to My Money > Payouts
Locate the PayPal and Venmo banner and click on Set up
You’ll be guided to connect your PayPal business account
If you do not have a PayPal business account, you’ll be prompted to create an account and fill out your business information for PayPal to verify. Once verified, you’ll be notified on the Payouts page.
After you’ve followed the steps above and connected your account, a green success banner will appear on your Payouts page.

How do I offer PayPal’s payment options?
Once you’ve connected your PayPal account and completed setup, PayPal payment options (PayPal, Venmo, PayPal Pay Later) will be automatically shown as payment options on your customer’s invoices.
What are the different payment options my customers can choose from through PayPal Pay Later?
Pay in 4 with PayPal: Customers pay in four interest-free installments
Pay Monthly (Financing): Customers pay for the purchase over a longer term up to 24 months
How do I get paid?
With PayPal and Venmo, payments will be paid out to your connected PayPal business account by your customer.
With PayPal Pay Later, you get paid in full once the job is complete. PayPal will disburse the funds directly to you, while your customers pay over time. The funds will reach your account in 2 business days.
How do I track my payouts?
To track your pending and completed PayPal payouts:
Head to your Payouts page in My Money
In the My payouts table, open the PayPal and Venmo tab
Click on Go to PayPal dashboard.
🚀 In the future, pending and completed PayPal transactions will appear on your Payouts page without having to redirect to PayPal’s dashboard.
From the PayPal dashboard, ensure you are on the Platform Account rather than the Business Account to view your PayPal payments. You can switch accounts by clicking on your account name at the top of the PayPal dashboard.
Once on the Platform account, you’ll be able to view your recent activity on the homepage with transactions.
To see all of your transactions, open the Activity dropdown and click on All transactions.
Disputes and Refunds
How do I respond to a dispute?
If you have received a dispute from a customer, PayPal will reach out to you when it has been initiated. Please note that PayPal will handle the dispute with you directly.
How do I issue a refund?
📌 Note: Refunds are handled directly by PayPal.
To issue a refund to your customer:
Open a Job and scroll down to the Payment history section.
Click on Refund in PayPal to redirect to PayPal’s Transactions page.
On PayPal’s Transaction page, open the Actions menu and click on Refund.

Will there be added functionality in the future?
PayPal payment options on mobile: Your customers will be able to pay using PayPal, Venmo, and PayPal Pay Later on their mobile device.
Franchises: Availability will roll out at a later date.
How do I toggle PayPal’s payment options?
To toggle PayPal payment options on an individual invoice, toggle them in the individual invoice setting before you send the invoice.
To toggle PayPal payment options on all invoices, go to Settings > Invoices. Toggle your desired payment method on or off.
Can I use PayPal Pay Later or Venmo without accepting PayPal?
No. In order to accept PayPal Pay Later or Venmo as payment options on your invoices, PayPal must be toggled on.
