Housecall Pro Navigation Essentials
Housecall Pro's interface is designed for easy navigation. This guide will help you understand where to find key features and how to use them.
Menu Navigation
In Housecall Pro, the navigation bar at the top of your account offers easy access to essential features.
The Home tab offers a centralized view of your business activity with quick access to open items, key stats, employee status, recent activity, and your schedule.
The Inbox tab lets you access both employee and customer messages, as well as the job inbox, helping you stay on top of all communications.
The Schedule tab allows you to view and manage scheduled Estimates, Events, and both scheduled and unscheduled Jobs.
The Customers tab enables you to handle various aspects of customer management, including a full list view of Jobs, Estimates, Leads, Invoices, and customer profiles.
The My Money tab provides tools for financing and payment processing.
The Reporting tab brings together your most important insights from across all reporting areas into a single, streamlined dashboard. It also allows you to create, customize, and save reports tailored to your business needs.
The Marketing tab brings email, text, postcard campaigns, reviews, and online booking together to help you reach more customers, book more jobs, and grow your business.
The Price Book tab is where you set up Services, Materials, Pricing forms, Estimate templates, and pricing information.
Please note that the navigation bar appears white for MAX plan users and black for other plans.
"More" Dropdown
When using Housecall Pro on a laptop or tablet, click the More button to access extra items in the navigation bar. The number of options in this dropdown will change according to your screen size.
Search Bar
Use the search bar in the main navigation to quickly look up:
Customer Names: including their related Jobs, Estimates, and Service plans.
Job/Invoice Numbers: find specific Jobs or Invoices by number.
Estimate Numbers: locate Estimates by number.
Serial Numbers: search added Property Profile Equipment items by serial number.
Addresses: search customer addresses (up to 20 per customer show in results)
Phone Numbers: returns all records linked to that number.
You can also use the Search bar when accessing Housecall Pro from your mobile web browser, which is located in the top navigation, just like on desktop.
When you begin typing, a search drawer opens showing all matching results. Select any item to open its page.
Searching for an invoice number shows results tied to that specific invoice.
Searching for a customer name displays the customer plus recent jobs and estimates.
If multiple customers share a name or you need more detail, select Search All Customers to view full results on the Customers List page.
Searching for a phone number returns all records linked to that number.
If no results match your query, you’ll be prompted to try a different search term.
Notifications
You can access the Notification Center by clicking the Bell icon on the upper-right-hand side of the navigation bar. The Notification Center is your central hub for viewing and managing Housecall Pro alerts, helping you stay on top of updates for Estimates, Jobs, Tasks, Invoices, Payments, and more.
HCP Map
You can access the HCP Map by clicking the Map icon on the left-hand side of the navigation bar to view all of today’s jobs and see a clear visual of where your technicians are scheduled throughout the day.
My Apps
My Apps can be accessed by clicking the grid icon with nine stacked dots on the upper-right-hand side of the navigation bar. This icon is visible on all screen sizes and provides easy access to applications like Service Plans, Timesheets, and Property Profiles. To explore additional apps and integrations, click on My Apps, then select the Go to App Store link at the bottom of the drop-down menu.
Settings
Settings can be accessed by clicking the gear icon on the upper-right-hand side of the navigation bar, visible on all screen sizes, including laptops and tablets. Here, you can manage company information, logo, terms and conditions, employee permissions, job, estimate, invoice settings, business hours, lead sources, tags, text messages, and more.
My Account, Activity Feed, Help, and Tasks
Clicking on the circular profile icon in the upper right-hand corner of your account will reveal additional options such as Activity Feed for viewing account activity, My Account to update your phone number, email, and profile picture, Help for accessing the help center and articles, Tasks to manage, add, and delete tasks, and Refer a Friend for details on the referral program.
Mobile Devices
When using Housecall Pro on a mobile browser like Safari or the Google Chrome app, the main navigation items are found under the hamburger menu on the upper-left-hand side of the screen. Under the circular profile icon in the upper-left-hand corner of the screen, you will find options including Activity Feed, Help, Tasks, Share the Love, Sign Out, as well as Map, My Apps, Settings, and more. The NEW button for jobs, estimates, customers, and other functions will appear as a + button in the bottom-right-hand corner of the screen.
