Why was the HouseCall Homeowner app (green icon) retired?
The HouseCall Homeowner app was a marketplace for homeowners to find service providers. Since its launch, we incorporated most of its functionality into Housecall Pro itself so homeowners wouldn't need a separate app to communicate with you.
The legacy app hadn't been updated in years, and it no longer supported many tools you rely on, like Job Inbox, Customer Portal, and Online Booking.
We've moved all Pros to centralized bookings in Housecall Pro, so you get:
Real-time job notifications
Secure booking tools
Better customer messaging
Timeline
June 2, 2025: The HouseCall Homeowner app was removed from App stores for future downloads, but remained active for users who already had it downloaded.
June: Ensured that Pros were set up with the customer portal, online booking, and text messaging for getting bookings.
July: Ensured all your customers are using the customer portal or your online booking link to book with you.
September 30, 2025: The HouseCall app has been retired and will no longer work for users who have it downloaded.
How to Remove Your Business from the HouseCall Homeowner App
As of September 30, 2025, your business will no longer be listed in the HouseCall Homeowner app for customer bookings.
What should I do now?
To keep things running smoothly:
Invite any customers who previously booked you through the HouseCall Homeowner app to book with you through either Online Booking or your Customer Portal.
Make sure you've set up Online Booking.
Update any HouseCall Homeowner App links with your HCP online booking link. Here’s how you can find it.
Make sure you've registered and set up your Texting Number.
To optimize getting more bookings:
Set up Reserve with Google.
Put Online Booking on your website or get an HCP Website that includes Online Booking and Customer Portal.
